Dorset Boys U11’s Inter Counties

Great day out!

Dorset V Suffolk

This was our first county to contend with and it would have been the one I would have chosen Also!

Charlie White at 3 was the first to go on and his first game he was quite nervous, losing it 5/11, just making too many unforced errors! But once his nerves had settled, he went on to take control of the match, winning the next 2 games 11/4, 11/4.

Jack Harris our number 1 went on next and win his match 2-0 11/7, 11/9

Isaac Watts our number 2 went on last and also went on to win his match 2-0; 11/1, 11/5

Great start, while the Suffolk team were quite young, it was a great moral booster got the boys!

Dorset v Oxfordshire

This county turned out to be very strong, having both the number 2 and 11 on the country playing for them!

Charlie went on and performed well in the first game, both on the second didn’t quite get going, so losing 0-2; 5/11, 0/11

Jack then had to play the number 2 in the country! In the first game Jack shot into an early lead, bringing the ball in short at just the right moments, and very nearly won it but just dipped it 9/11! Next game was not quite as close 5/11.

Isaac Watts again was no push over for the number 11 in the country, 6/11, 9/11. The second game showing that he was not too far off and how well he was playing!

Dorset v Devon

This final match then became a fight for who would finish second and get into the plate final!

We hoped that Charlie would get us to a good start and were not disappointed, Charlie was too strong winning it 11/3,11/4!

Jack then had to play a player we all knew was going to be too, but we forgot to tell Jack! Jack gained am early lead, putting the ball away clinically and leaving his opponent struggling to know what to do, 11/2! Second game was all a lot tighter and we were all on the edge of our seats, could Jack possibly win this match? Done it, 11/9! We were all over the moon!

The pressure then was off Isaac, but for him it was still very important! Super tight first game, just held on to 13/11. Lost his way in the second 5/11. The third very exciting stuff but Isaac was able to clinch it 11/9!  WHAT A DAY! We’ll done boys!
