Our girls u13’s travelled to Winchester to play in the inter counties against Hampshire and Sussex last weekend.
They faced a very strong Hampshire team in their first match. Abi Russell played an attacking game but her opponent maintained some impressive pressure overcoming Abi 3-0. Amy had a comfortable 3-0 win leaving Nia to try and clinch the match. Nia took the first game 11/1 but even though she worked hard, she was unable to contain her opponent and eventually lost the battle 3-1.
After lunch the girls played a strong Sussex team but the girls worked hard to secure a well-deserved win with Amy and Abi both winning 3-0. Nia had a very close encounter and sealed the match with a 3-2 victory. Well done girls, an excellent day’s squash!
