End of Season Junior County Tournament

The ‘End of Season’ county tournament was held at West Hants today. 17 of Dorset’s top juniors competed for their final trophies of the season. The afternoon was completed with the annual presentation of awards. Well done to all of our juniors, from our U11’s through to the U17’s, a great season and it’s so good to see our county up there challenging the UK’s best squash players.

The awards went to;

Group B winner – Amy Campbell-Wynter

Group A winner – Joe Cook

Dorset Junior U13 Girls Player of the Year 2015-16 – Ellie Corben – Ellie has continued to improve throughout the season and she has beaten some very strong opposition at the no 2 spot.

Dorset Junior U13 Player of the Year 2015-16 – Luca Campbell-Wynter – Undefeated and led from the no 1 spot!

Dorset Junior U15 Player of the Year 2015-16 – Charlie Bates – A very hard season for this inexperienced squad, Charlie had to step up 2 positions and play at no 1, which really was a thankless task! He never gave up, always prepared to give 100%, a well earned trophy.

Dorset Junior U17 Girls Player of the Year 2015-16 – Elise Bailey – The U17’s had a solid squad of 7 players and Elise worked incredibly to secure her position in the team. A never say die attitude, a well deserved award.

Dorset Junior U17 Player of the Year 2015-16 – Liam Alldridge – Liam has had a good season, playing well in all of his matches. He has been a credit to Dorset squash and he led the U17’s to yet another Trophy Final, the 2nd one in succession.

Club player trophy – this is awarded to a player who has progressed into senior club team and helps out with junior coaching; Oliver Moffat – he has helped with the younger players as a play buddy. (They arrange matches/practice session to bring on each other’s games). He goes along regularly to the Saturday junior club to help coach with Stewart and Janet and he is progressing up the internal leagues. He is also playing for one of the senior teams in the Dorset league.
