Dorset Junior Squash Festival

On Sunday November 8th, 40 enthusiastic juniors gathered at the West Hants Club, Bournemouth, to compete in Dorset’s first Squash Festival of the season. These friendly tournaments are held in different clubs around the county every few weeks. They are aimed at youngsters, keen to gain match experience in a relaxed and friendly environment against children of a similar standard, regardless of age.

Premier Group; Winner Elise Houghton (WH), R/Up Ellis Jennings (F’down)
Group 1; Winner Logan Macey (WH), R/Up Fergus Pitcher (2RM)
Group 2; Winner Nia Edwards (WH), R/Up Hannah Walker-Date (WH)
Group 3; Winner Emily Coker (BSC), R/Up Lauren Martin (WH)
Group 4; Winner Guy Popper (2RM), R/Up Elizabeth Avis (2RM)

Bev Vatcher, Dorset’s Junior County Squash Manager, was impressed at both the large turnout and age range, with the youngest being 6 and the oldest, 15.
She commented that, “Lots of fun was had by all.”
