The David Lloyd Bournemouth Action Group (DLBAG) was recently wound up after it was no longr viable to continue the fight against the developers who own the old DLB club. The group held a final get together and party for past DLB members at Bournemouth's Roundhouse Hotel on Saturday 1st May 2010. At this event their remaining funds were distributed amongst 3 organisations to help with sports development in Dorset. The organisations who recieved these generous donations were:
As well as the funds each organisation as given a cup, named the David Lanz Trophy, to perpetuate the name of the DLB club for future generations.
Janet Biles from DS&R recieved a cheque to help with Junior Squash development in Dorset and the David Lanz trophy which will be presented each year to the junior player who is deemed to have made a significant contribution to junior squash in Dorset, in a similar way to the Basil Hebden trophy is presented each year.
