The boys traveled to Taunton for this SWL match.
Dorset v Avon
Tom had a tight game against the useful Avon number 3. He hit some nice short kills, but Tom was able to hit a good length to his weaker backhand. After loosing a close second game, he was able to assert his dominance through tighter serves and more drops.
Arthur played well, moving his opponent around the court and hitting some nice kills. Ryan was too strong for the Avon number and eased to a comfortable victory. Winning their first match quite comfortably 3~0 and gaining 15 maximum points
Dorset v Somerset
A slow start from Tom led to him loosing the first two games, against a handy opponent. Tom was able to regroup after some advice from Ryan and Arthur, to take the third game. Tom was ahead in the forth but the Somerset number 3 was able to close out the game, with some good tight shots. Arthur came up against a more difficult opponent in his second match of the day. He won the game by limiting his errors and capitalizing on the Somerset player's mistakes with excellent attacking shots. Ryan came up against the highly ranked and impressive Luke Bishop. Ryan put a good fight in the first and last games but Luke was strong in all areas, and on home turf was just a bit too strong on the day for Ryan. It was an excellent and entertaining game too watch.
We all had a great time and we hope we can build on our narrow lead in the next round of games.

I just wanted to extend my thanks to all the players and team manager's for helping to make it a successful and enjoyable day. All the matches were played in a fantastic friendly yet competitive spirit. It was a strange day in terms of results... as Avon beat Somerset, then Dorset beat Avon and finally Somerset beating Dorset! Still, all to play for in the next fixture.
