South West League Match Report - Sunday 6th December - Bude Cornwall U13 Boys - Phil Sargeant, Haden Holburn, Rory Bell, Joe Grange, George Acworth Firstly, I want to say our boys were great. A super team spirit led from the front by Phil Sargeant. Having travelled all the way to Bude in Cornwall, the boys battled hard in both matches. Dorset narrowly lost their first match against Cornwall 3-2. Joe Grange, making his debut at no 4, showed great attitude and effort to a very experienced opponent, just losing each game to 6, 8 and 8. Haden Holburn also making his debut at no 2 played some excellent squash and pulled off a super 3-1 win. George Acworth was steady but was overpowered by a hard hitting Cornish opponent. Rory Bell was disappointed to lose his match 3-2. Having been 2-1 up, he narrowly lost 11/9 in the 5th set. Our captain, Phil Sargeant was clinical in his match winning 3-0: 12/10, 11/1, 11/3. In our second match, we faced a very strong Somerset team. Phil Sargeant played some of the best squash I've seen him play against the England ranked no 23 U13 Nathan Woodhead. Haden, Rory, Joe and George all fought hard, never giving up and although each match was a 3-0 defeat, each one of our players were quite capable of pinching a game.
