U11′ s Mixed G S Squash Festival 2015

U11’s Dorset mixed squash team have come back after preforming well really well at the annual G S Squash Festival 2015.

Each county came with a team of 6 players (6th players match does not score), our county team came with 3 experienced county players and 3 ‘First timers” to the event.

James Campbell-Wynter, Amy Campbell-Wynter, Joe Pannell, Logan Macey, Harry White and Ethan Franklin, and some MAD bloke at the back!

James Campbell-Wynter, Amy Campbell-Wynter, Joe Pannell, Logan Macey, Harry White and Ethan Franklin, and some MAD bloke at the back!

There were 9 teams competing, 3 from Sussex, our first match was against the Sussex ‘c’ team where everyone got off to a winning start (Fantastic!), then came came Surrey (who had also beaten Sussex ‘c’), this was a harder match where James at 1 just lost 2-3, Joe at 2 with very close games lost 1-3, Amy at 3 pulled out all the stops to win 3-1, and Logan at 4 , Ethan at 5 and Harry at 6 went down 0-3.

This put us into the the next stage where we had to play Middlesex, this was a slightly easier match where everyone again was able to gain a win (Fantastic!)

This left us with our final match against Kent, meaning we were playing for either 4th or 5th spot out of the 9 teams, our young guns Ethan, Logan and Harry were unable to win their games, but James and Joe both played brilliant squash to secure wins, leaving it to Amy who had preformed so well against Surrey, but was unable to replicate that!

Soo close, a brilliant day, final position 5th. Well played Everyone!!

Individual results were:-

  • James winning 3 matches out of 4
  • Joe winning 3 matches out of 4
  • Amy winning 3 matches out of 4
  • Logan winning 2 matches out of 4
  • Ethan winning 2 matches out of 4
  • Harry winning 2 matches out of 4.

Next U11 event is at Winchester, need to book next week, phone me if you want to enter!
